Improve your tennis game with fun, fast-paced instructional drills designed just for kids.
Pee Wee: This exciting program is for kids ages 3 – 5 who will have a blast learning to play tennis! Instruction is tailored to the needs of this age group in a fun curriculum. Games & activities are arranged in various levels, from tennis readiness activities with a concentration on movement & balance to pre-tennis skills that prepare children to move up to the 8 & Under group. You can sign-up for just one time per week, but are encouraged to do more days, as those kids who do more than once per week will progress to a higher level more quickly.
10 & Under Beginner Group: This group is for kids ages 6 – 10 and will focus on teaching kids the proper strokes in tennis thru a combination of drills & games designed to make tennis FUN for this group, while they are learning the skills necessary to develop their games and enable them to move up to the Developmental group. Kids ages 8 & Under will play on a 36' court & will use the recommended "Red Low Compression Ball", while the kids ages 10 & Under will play on a 60' court & will use the recommended "Orange Low Compression Ball". You can sign-up for just one time per week, but are encouraged to do more days, as those kids who do more than once per week will progress to a higher level more quickly. Until a child shows that they have the passion to grow as a tennis player, it is recommended that they just do once a week. Coach Bob will assist you in determining when increasing the number of times your child does tennis is right for them. This QuickStart format of play will enable kids to be able to start playing matches in a very short time, so we encourage them to play USTA Jr. Team Tennis usually within the first couple months of starting tennis! 10 & Under Intermediate Group: This group is for kids who have played at least one season of USTA Jr. Team Tennis with some success! These kids must also be planning to play tournaments, as the focus of this group will be to help “develop” more skill to enable them to move up to the 12 & Under Developmental Group. We would encourage the kids in this group to play more than once a week. Being able to develop ALL skills on a 60' court with the "Orange Low Compression Ball" is a requirement before kids will be moved up to the full court!
Green Dot Int./Adv.: This group is also for kids who have played at least one season of USTA Jr. Team Tennis with some success! These kids must also be planning to play tournaments, as the focus of this group will be to help “develop” more skill to enable them to move up to the Middle School Competitive group. We would encourage the kids in this group to play more than once a week. This group will focus on moving the kids to the full court using "Green Dot" balls that will make the transition to a full court easier for these kids & help prepare them to be ready to play on their middle school team! Green Dot Beg./Int.: This group is for kids who have NOT played USTA Jr. Team Tennis or any tournaments. These kids are currently just playing tennis for FUN, although we would like to encourage them to start playing some matches, so that they can move up to the Developmental Group. This group will focus on moving the kids to the full court using "Green Dot" balls that will make the transition to a full court easier for these kids & help prepare them to be ready to play matches!
Middle & High SchoolCompetitive Group : This group will meet on Thursday & Saturday, and will be filled on a first come first serve basis to the kids who commit to doing both days. These kids must be planning to play tournaments or Challenge Ladder, as the focus of this group is to get the kids ready to be “competitive” in tournament play and prepare them for the middle & high school tennis season.
